From Career Planning to Job Offer: A Complete PokeBot Workflow

PokeBot's modules are built to work as one system, each building on the last, from understanding where you are today to landing a job offer. This guide walks through the full workflow so you can see how the pieces fit together.

Step 1: Why Start with Career Planning?

Start with a plan. The Career Planning module helps you work out where you want to go and what it will take to get there.

Set Your Direction

If you already know your target role, great. If you're not sure yet, use Find Your Direction. Based on your background, interests, and strengths, PokeBot suggests career paths and explains what each one involves: why it fits you, the requirements, the skills you'd need to build, and what the day-to-day looks like.

You can also use Simulate a Day in the Role to check whether your target role feels like the right fit before you commit.

Understand the Gap

Once you know where you're headed, run a Skill Gap Analysis. Add your resume or enter your current role, then tell PokeBot your target role. The AI compares your skills against what's needed and gives you:

A prioritized list of skills to develop
Suggested actions for each gap
A readiness score and a rough estimate of how long each gap will take to close

Build Your Growth Plan

With your gaps identified, use Create Your Growth Plan to generate a personalized plan, broken into weeks (or larger blocks for long plans), with:

Specific tasks you can check off as you complete them
Learning resources tied to each milestone
Progress checkpoints to keep you on track

These tasks show up in the Progress Tracker's Growth Path, and your Dashboard tracks how many you've finished. You can also use Learning Tools to go deep on a specific skill, or Plan Everything for goals that go beyond your career: side projects, certifications, or life goals.

Step 2: How Do You Find Opportunities?

With a plan in place, start looking at open roles. The Opportunity Map matches you with roles from recruiters and hiring managers who work with PokeBot.

Warm Introductions

PokeBot's matching algorithm scores job opportunities against your profile, factoring in experience fit, skills match, career plan alignment, and location preferences. When you find a role you like, give it a thumbs up. We confirm with you, then share your resume with the recruiting partner as a Warm Intro that highlights your profile. Warm Intro is open to every user. Complete your profile, find your direction, and score 75+ on both a resume analysis and a mock interview to earn Power Intro status; we then mention it when we introduce you.

You choose which roles we consider you for: Matched Sharing (only roles you give a thumbs up), Automatic Sharing (any strong match), or Opt Out. Under Matched or Automatic Sharing, we confirm with you before approaching a partner.

Network and Connect

Build professional connections with Networking. Browse the member directory, filter by role (mentors, coaches, job seekers and more) or by what people can help with, and send connection requests to grow your network alongside your job search.

Step 3: How Do You Get Your Resume Ready?

Now that you know which roles you're targeting, update your resume for them.

Analyze What You Have

Upload your current resume and get an AI-powered analysis with a score (0–100), strengths, and improvement areas. Paste a specific job description into Resume Studio to see how well your resume aligns with that role and tailor it to fit.

Tailor for Every Application

Use the Resume Studio to create a tailored version for any job. Choose from professional templates (Classic Professional, Tech Modern, Business Clean), select which sections to include, and export as PDF or Word. A What's Changed report lists each edit the AI made and explains it.

Complete Your Application Materials

Generate cover letters and cold outreach emails from the Reachout Generator, or use Build Everything to create any professional document you need.

Step 4: How Do You Practice for the Interview?

With a plan and a tailored resume ready, it's time to practice for the interview.

Each Interview Practice session scores you on four competencies: Communication & English, Content Quality, Structure & Organization, and Professionalism. Turn on follow-up questions and the AI probes your answers the way a real interviewer would, with up to two follow-ups per question.

As you work through your plan, practice interviews, and optimize your resume, the Progress Tracker keeps everything visible:
