Mock Everything: Practice Any Real-World Conversation with AI
From salary negotiations to difficult colleague talks, PokeBot's Mock Everything lets you role-play any conversation scenario with AI feedback on your communication.
Mock Everything: Practice Any Real-World Conversation with AI
Job interviews aren't the only conversations that matter in your career. Asking for a raise, pushing back on a client, pitching to a prospect, navigating a difficult colleague — these moments shape your trajectory just as much as any interview. The problem is that most people walk into them unprepared.
Mock Everything lets you practice any real-world conversation before it happens. The AI role-plays as the other party based on the scenario and personality you set, and after the session, you get detailed feedback on your communication effectiveness.
How It Works
- Choose a scenario — pick from a Quick Start Template or create your own from scratch
- Set the roles — define who you are and who the other party is
- Customize the character — describe the other party's personality, communication style, and tendencies so the AI responds realistically
- Choose your settings — conversation length, tone, response mode (text or voice), and feedback style
- Start the role play — the AI opens the conversation in character, and you respond naturally
- Get feedback — after the session, receive a detailed report on your communication with scores and specific suggestions
Quick Start Templates
Not sure where to start? Pick a template and customize it to your situation:
Salary Negotiation
Practice negotiating a raise, promotion, or better compensation package. The AI plays your manager — empathetic but constrained by budget, asking for justification. Perfect for rehearsing before your next performance review.
Difficult Colleague
Address a conflict, disagreement, or recurring issue with a colleague. The AI plays someone who's defensive and believes their approach is correct, but is open to compromise if approached respectfully. Practice de-escalation and assertive communication.
Ask for Resources
Request additional budget, headcount, or tools from management. The AI plays a budget-conscious director who needs data-driven justification. Great for practicing how to make a compelling business case.
Sales Pitch
Pitch your product or service to a potential client during a discovery or demo meeting. The AI plays a skeptical buyer who's seen many pitches and values concrete ROI and case studies.
Client Pushback
Handle a situation where a client is unhappy with deliverables, timeline, or pricing. The AI plays a frustrated client who feels unheard but ultimately wants the project to succeed.
Ask a Mentor
Seek advice about career moves, skill development, or industry transitions. The AI plays a senior mentor who asks probing questions, shares from experience, and challenges your assumptions constructively.
Family Talk
Discuss major life decisions, boundaries, finances, or expectations with a family member. The AI plays someone emotionally invested with strong opinions who cares about your wellbeing but may resist change.
Custom Scenario
Define your own scenario from scratch. Describe any conversation you want to practice — a board presentation, a team conflict, a vendor negotiation, a feedback session — and set up the other party exactly how you need them.
Conversation Settings
Fine-tune your practice session to match the real situation:
Conversation Length
- Short (3 turns) — quick practice for focused scenarios
- Medium (5 turns) — the default for most conversations
- Long (8 turns) — deep practice for complex negotiations or multi-topic discussions
Conversation Tone
- Casual — relaxed, friendly conversation
- Professional — standard business setting
- Formal — high-stakes, senior-level discussion
- Heated — tense, confrontational scenario
Response Mode
- Text — type your responses
- Audio — speak your responses for a more realistic simulation
Feedback Style
- Encouraging — focuses on strengths with gentle suggestions
- Normal — balanced feedback
- Constructive — direct, actionable critique
Character Setup
This is what makes Mock Everything powerful. You can describe the other party's personality in detail:
- Are they supportive or skeptical?
- Do they make decisions quickly or need time to think?
- Are they data-driven or emotional?
- Do they tend to interrupt, deflect, or push back?
The more specific you are, the more realistic the conversation. For example, if you're practicing a salary negotiation with your actual manager, describe their real communication style. The AI will adapt to match.
How You're Scored
After each session, you receive a comprehensive feedback report:
Overall Score (0–100) — your overall communication effectiveness
Four Competency Scores:
- Communication — clarity, articulation, and confidence
- Content — relevance and substance of your responses
- Structure — how well-organized your arguments and points are
- Professionalism — tone, demeanor, and appropriateness
Strengths — specific things you did well with examples from your responses
Areas to Improve — actionable suggestions for better communication
Recommendation — personalized advice on what to practice next
Each individual response also gets scored and feedback during the conversation, so you can adjust your approach in real time.
Practice, Retry, Improve
Every session is saved to your history. You can:
- Retry with the same setup — practice the same scenario again with a fresh conversation to see if your approach improves
- Retry with changes — modify the scenario, tone, or character personality to practice different angles
- Review past sessions — go back to previous conversations to review feedback and track your improvement
When to Use Mock Everything
Before a big conversation: Practice the exact scenario you're about to face. Set up the other party's personality to match the real person. Run through it 2–3 times until you feel confident.
To build general communication skills: Use the templates regularly to practice different types of conversations. Salary negotiations, client pushback, and difficult colleague talks all use different communication skills.
To prepare for something you've never done: Never pitched to a client before? Never asked for a raise? Never had to give tough feedback? Mock Everything lets you experience these conversations in a safe environment before the real stakes kick in.
To debrief after a conversation went wrong: Recreate a conversation that didn't go well. Try different approaches and see which ones score better. Use the feedback to understand what you could have done differently.
