How to Use PokeBot in Muse
Setup, tools, what is kept, and how to disconnect. Last updated: October 2026.
Quick answer: PokeBot's career tools work inside Meta's Muse as a custom connector. You need a free PokeBot account. Ask Muse to add a custom connector for PokeBot with the server URL https://connect.pokebot.ai/mcp, and when Muse asks for a Client ID, enter pokebot-muse. Muse then sends you to PokeBot to sign in and select Approve. Results from Muse aren't saved to your PokeBot account.
PokeBot also runs in Claude; see How to Use PokeBot in Claude.
What is PokeBot in Muse?
PokeBot's connector gives Muse nine tools from PokeBot's career platform: resume scoring, resume-to-job matching, cover letters, career goals, skill-gap analysis, growth plans and mock interviews. When Muse uses one of them, PokeBot runs the analysis and the result comes back into your Muse conversation as text. The connector works through your own PokeBot account, which is why you sign in when you connect.
How do I add PokeBot to Muse?
PokeBot isn't in Muse's list of connectors, so you add it as a custom connector. Meta's help center says you can ask Muse to create a custom connector and Muse guides you through it.
- In Muse, ask it to add a custom connector for PokeBot, for example: "Create a custom connector for PokeBot at https://connect.pokebot.ai/mcp".
- If Muse asks for the server URL, enter
https://connect.pokebot.ai/mcp. - When Muse asks for a Client ID, enter
pokebot-muse. - Muse sends you to PokeBot. Sign in, then select Approve (the next section shows what you'll see).
What happens when I sign in to PokeBot from Muse?
- If you're signed out, the page says Sign in to connect PokeBot to Muse. Select Sign in to use your email and password, Create a free account if you're new, or Continue With Google.
- Your email must be verified. If you create an account with email, the page then says Check your email. Open the verification link we email you, come back to that PokeBot tab, enter your password and select Continue. You have 10 minutes from when Muse sent you to PokeBot; after that, go back to Muse and connect PokeBot again.
- Then you see the consent screen. It says Muse (agent.meta.ai) wants to connect to your PokeBot account, shows that account's email, and lists what Muse will be able to do: use PokeBot's resume, cover letter, career planning and mock interview tools for you, with runs counting toward your PokeBot plan. It also says that results from Muse aren't saved to your PokeBot account.
- Choose Approve or Deny. Approve connects Muse and takes you back to it. Deny cancels. If the screen shows the wrong account, choose Switch account. Only approve if you just started connecting PokeBot in Muse yourself.
- Under the buttons, an After you approve box gives you a first prompt to try: "Use PokeBot to find my skill gaps. I'm a data analyst and want to become a mid-level data scientist." Select Copy, then send it back in Muse with your own roles swapped in.
How do I get Muse to use PokeBot?
Name PokeBot in your request. Start with "Use PokeBot to", for example "Use PokeBot to score my resume," followed by your resume text. If Muse asks for your permission before it uses a PokeBot tool, allow it.
What can PokeBot do in Muse?
| Tool | What you get |
|---|---|
| Start a mock interview | A mock interview for your target role, starting with the first question |
| Answer an interview question | A score from 0 to 100 for your answer, feedback, a suggested answer, and the follow-up or next question |
| Finish a mock interview | Your performance summary: overall score, strengths, areas to improve and a recommendation |
| Score a resume | An overall score from 0 to 100, a score for each dimension, strengths, weaknesses and recommendations |
| Match a resume to a job | A match score from 0 to 100, covered and missing keywords, and tailoring recommendations |
| Write a cover letter | A cover letter based on your resume and the job description |
| Analyze career goals | Career goals with timelines, action items and success metrics |
| Find skill gaps for a role | A readiness score from 0 to 100 and the gap in each skill, with recommended actions |
| Make a growth plan | A week-by-week plan with tasks and milestones, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year long |
You can choose a technical, behavioral, resume, job-fit or custom interview, with 3 to 8 main questions, starting at easy, medium or hard. Resume and job-fit interviews need your resume text, and a job-fit interview also needs the job description. The results of the resume and career tools, and the interview summary, end with a link to open that tool in the PokeBot app.
Does PokeBot save my results from Muse?
- No. Resume scores, job matches, cover letters, career goals, skill-gap reports and growth plans go back to Muse and aren't saved to your PokeBot account. Each one says so: "This result isn't saved to your PokeBot account." To keep a result, run the tool in the PokeBot app instead.
- A mock interview is kept only while it runs. PokeBot deletes it once its summary is ready. An interview you never finish is deleted when you disconnect Muse.
- What stays on your account: points, badges and activity counts that a finished interview adds, and the count of runs you used. The Muse section of our privacy policy has the full detail.
How many runs do I get in Muse?
- Free PokeBot accounts get 20 runs a month, shared by Muse and Claude and across all the tools. The count resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
- Starting a mock interview counts as one run. Answering its questions and finishing it don't count.
- On a paid PokeBot plan, runs in Muse count toward your plan's usual limits. You can compare plans here.
How do I disconnect PokeBot from Muse?
- In PokeBot: in the PokeBot app, open Settings (the gear icon at the top; on a phone, tap the three-dot menu, then Settings), go to the Integrations tab, and under Connected apps select Disconnect next to Muse, then confirm. Muse's access ends right away, any unfinished interview started in Muse is deleted, and Muse will need to sign in again to use PokeBot.
- In Muse: Meta's help center says you can disconnect a connector in Muse's Settings, under Connectors. That stops Muse from using PokeBot. To end the access on PokeBot's side too, disconnect it in PokeBot.
What if something goes wrong?
- PokeBot says "This app isn't allowed to connect to PokeBot." Check that the Client ID is exactly
pokebot-muse, then connect again. - PokeBot says the request expired. Go back to Muse and connect PokeBot again.
- PokeBot says you've used your 20 free PokeBot runs. Your runs come back on the reset date in the message, or you can move to a paid plan.
- Muse asks you to connect PokeBot again. This happens whenever Muse's access to PokeBot has ended, for example after you disconnect Muse in PokeBot's Settings, after you change or reset your PokeBot password, when Muse hasn't renewed its PokeBot sign-in for 30 days, or one year after you approved access. Sign in to PokeBot again and select Approve.
- Muse shows a PokeBot error with a reference code. Try again in a moment. If it keeps happening, email contact@pokebot.ai and include the code.
What does PokeBot receive from Muse?
PokeBot receives what Muse sends to its tools when you use them, such as resume text, job descriptions and interview answers, plus the basic technical information needed to run the service. It does not receive your Muse or Meta account details or your other Muse conversations. Meta also processes your requests and PokeBot's results as part of Muse, under Meta's own terms and privacy policy. For what PokeBot keeps and how to ask for deletion, see the Muse section of our privacy policy.
Where can I get help?
Email contact@pokebot.ai with what you tried and, if Muse showed one, the reference code from the error.
